Curbside Voting

  • Navigate to your polling place’s designated curbside voting area.
  • Notify the poll worker stationed by the curb or call the number posted to request someone to bring
    you your ballot.
  • The Registrars of Voters (or their assistants) from opposing parties will facilitate the process.
  • Show proper identification, mark your ballot, then place it in a privacy sleeve for your Registrars to deliver to the tabulator.
  • You do not need to provide any proof of your incapacity.

Where is it Available? 

All polling places and early voting
locations. You can help your town prepare by telling your
Registrar in advance that you may want to use curbside voting.

How is my Vote Kept Private?

While voting, your Registrars must remain in a location that prevents them from seeing your choices.
After voting, place your ballot in the provided privacy sleeve for your Registrars to deliver for counting.
No candidates or electioneering allowed in the curbside voting area.

NOTICE OF REVALUATION

As required by state law, the Town of Durham is revaluing all properties in town. Durham's most recent revaluation was completed for the 2020 Grand List. 

eQuality Valuation Services, LLC (hereinafter “eQuality”) of Waterbury, Connecticut, has been contracted by the Town of Durham to assist the Assessor in conducting the October 1st, 2025, revaluation. Under the Assessor's supervision, employees of eQuality will collect and analyze information about all properties. An important part of the valuation process involves measuring the outside and listing the interior of each improved parcel. 

A Data Collector will visit your property. A list of Data Collectors is to the right of this Notice under "Resources", "Related Documents". Each Data Collector will carry photo identification and the original letter of introduction. Their cars will be registered with the State Police and Durham Resident Troopers. After making a complete inspection, property owners may be asked to sign a form. The signature is only a verification of inspection and does not commit the homeowner in any way. The inspection will take between 10 to 15 minutes.

NOVEMBER 3RD FILING DEADLINE
 
PURSUANT TO CONNECTICUT GENERAL STATUTES SEC 12-40

Owners and lessees of all tangible personal property located in the Town of Durham as of October 1, 2025 must file Personal Property Declarations in the Assessor’s Office on or before November 3, 2025.  Declarations, extension requests, and exemption applications are available on the Town website and in the Assessor’s Office.

Tangible personal property includes, but is not limited to, UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLES, MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT OF COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL BUSINESSES, FARM MACHINERY, BUSINESS COMPUTERS/COMPUTER EQUIPMENT, OFFICE FURNITURE & FIXTURES, LEASEHOLD IMPROVEMENTS, etc.  Failure to file will result in a penalty per CGS Sec 12-41.
