Description:
The purposes of this position is to assure development, maintenance and oversight of the Town’s fiscal stability by directing and administering the Town’s municipal funds, accounting systems, accounting controls, purchasing controls, health benefits, payroll, pension, revenue controls, and preparation and monitoring of the municipal budget. The Finance Director is required to exercise considerable independent judgment in administering and managing the department and is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control.

Description:
The Durham Public Library seeks an enthusiastic and reliable circulation assistant to join our team. This is a part-time position performing a variety of circulation and customer service functions. Excellent customer service skills, ability to communicate effectively with patrons and staff, and attention to detail required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing circulation routines using the Library’s automated system, including issuing and renewing library cards; checking library materials in and out; collecting fines; placing holds and contacting patrons, answering phones and responding to queries.
  • Advising patrons about library materials and services.
  • Assisting patrons with computers and other technology.
 
Qualifications desired include:

  • High school graduation required; Associates degree preferred.
  • Circulation and/or customer service experience in a public library.
  • Experience with computers and automated library systems. Experience with Sierra preferred.
  • Strong commitment to warm and welcoming public service required.
This is a part-time (10 hours per week) non-union position with no benefits. The salary is $19.63/hour and the regular schedule includes Monday and Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings.  Successful candidates will be subject to the Town of Durham background screening process, and a pre-employment drug screen. Durham Recreation Summer Employee Job Description 2023

7 weeks. Must be age 16 to apply for this job. Staff members will be working with children ages 4 -15. They will be assigned a group of children for the summer. Staff members will be responsible for signing in their group of children in the morning, and it is the parents’ responsibility to sign them out upon pick up. Responsibilities will be to take care of and supervise their group of children while having them engage in fun activities. Some examples of these activities are tennis, arts & crafts, nature day, story day, bug day, pirate day, Halloween day, and sports day.
 Staff members will be asked to participate in programs as well as the children. We ask that all staff dress the part. An example of this would be dressing up for Halloween or bringing in a musical instrument for music day. Energy and participation create FUN!
