Program Overview
The Middletown Transit District's Complimentary COVID Testing Transportation provides accessible transportation within the Middletown Area Transit service area and is available 7 days per week. The service is available to all residents within the Middletown Transit District. Participant's taxi rides to designated COVID Testing sites within the Middletown Transit District are paid 100%.
Service Area
The trip must begin in one of the following towns: Middletown, Middlefield, East Hampton, Portland and Durham. To use the Complimentary COVID Testing Transportation, find a testing site within the Middletown Transit District.
How To Book A Trip
You may book a trip by calling the taxi provider, Curtin Transportation, at 860-443-1655. Reservations may be made between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM Monday through Friday at least one day in advance. A wheelchair accessible vehicle will be provided upon request.
Attendants/Companions
Up to three (3) companions, including a Personal Care Attendant (PCA), may ride for free with the eligible rider. The eligible rider and companions must have the same origin and destination.
COVID Precautions
All riders are required to wear a mask. The vehicles are equipped with front to back protection barriers. After each ride, the vehicle is wiped down with disinfectant wipes. Complimentary COVID Testing Transportation will be available until June 30, 2021 or until funding is exhausted. MTD reserves the right to limit number of uses per individual.
