Durham Park and Recreation Meeting Minutes

November 16, 2004

Attendance:

          Karen Kean, Sherry Hill, Diana Dahlman, Ann Figoras,

 Linda Handley

Absent:

          Charlie Bray, Chris Bascom, Denise Emack, Carol Herzig, Jack Stahl

The meeting was called to order at 7:10pm by Chairperson Karen Kean.

Old Business:

          The Halloween Parade was held on 10/30/04. It was a great success and was well attended. The children had a great time.

New Business:

          The Christmas tree lighting will be held on Sat. Dec. 4^th at 4pm on the Town Green. Members should arrive by 3:15pm for set up. Sherry will arrange to have the Durham Fair Building open at 3pm, and will provide a table. Linda will get the candy, hot cups, napkins, table cloths and hot chocolate. Diana will pick up donut holes. Karen will get spoons, large pots, and paper towels. Saint Nick will be in attendance. The High School Brass Ensemble conducted by Dean Coutsouridis will provide music. Also we will be collecting clean gently used winter coats to donate to the homeless. Sherry will take care of publicity. Ann Figoras will research an organization to accept the coats.

           The Summer Basketball program was discussed.

January meeting date scheduled for Tuesday January 18^th at 7pm.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made at 8:20pm by Karen Kean and seconded by Linda Handley.
