Proposed Revisions to Zoning Regulations
At its meeting of May 3, 2017, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the town of Durham, Connecticut voted to present certain revisions of the town’s Zoning Regulations to the public at a Public Hearing scheduled for 8:00 PM on June 7, 2017 at Coginchaug Regional High School. The revisions include the following:

  1. Section 01: Preamble

  2. Section 03: Districts

  3. Globally throughout the Zoning Regulations: Where it appears, the word “district(s)” shall be replaced with the word “zone(s)” for consistency.

  4. Various sections/sub-sections: Following a review of Durham’s Zoning Regulations for conformity with current case-law, revisions were recommended by the commission’s legal counsel (Attorney Steven E. Byrne, Esq.) to protect the town from indefensible lawsuits. The proposed revisions have been reviewed by Attorney Byrne and are in conformance with his recommendations.
