*At a Board of Selectmen's meeting on November 10, 1997 it was decided that the dog warden would be called the animal control officer. Licenses are due in June of each year. In order to license your dog, you must bring a current rabies certificate and the license fee to the Town Clerk's Office. If necessary, this can also be done by mail. Fees are $8.00 for a spayed or neutered dog. $19.00 for an intact (unspayed or unneutered) dog and $51.00 for a kennel license that covers 10 dogs. Roaming Dogs: There is no leash law in Durham, however, dogs must be under the owner's control at all times and cannot be allowed to roam freely at any time. Barking Dogs: A barking dog is a public nuisance complaint, 24 hours a day. Offenses and Fines

If your pet has open wounds, DO NOT handle the animal without first putting on latex gloves. |
