| Midstate Regional Planning Agency |
The Midstate Regional Planning Agency (MRPA) created under Connecticut General Statutes Sec. 8.31-37, provides regional planning for eight municipalites in the northern portion of Middlesex County. Municipalities in the Midstate Region include Cromwell, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Haddam, Middlefield, Middletown, and Portland. MRPA provides town-planning services for Durham, Haddam, and Middlefield. The Midstate Region covers 246.9 square miles of both urban and rural landscapes. MRPA also acts as a U.S. Census Liaison for the State of Connecticut. |

The Connecticut Licensing Information Center (CT-CLIC) is a collaborative project of the Office of Policy and Management, CERC and 27 state agencies. CT-CLIC is an online resource tool that streamlines access to licensing and permitting information across state government. It gives Connecticut citizens and businesses quick, convenient, around-the-clock access to information about 900 licensing and permitting activities administered by the 27 participating state agencies.
CT-CLIC’s goal is to enhance Connecticut’s economy and quality of life by giving the state a significant competitive advantage in retaining, attracting and growing businesses.
CT-CLIC is made up of two components: a self-service Web site, www.ct-clic.com, and Smart Start, a full-service business registry program operated through Connecticut’s Business Response Center (housed at CERC) where customers can get individualized help with licensing and registration. The personal business assistance service provided by Smart Start is free of charge and is accessed by calling 1-800-392-2122 or sending e-mail to SmartStart@cerc.com. |

Chair: Philip Miller Staff Liaison: Taren McKinney Middlesex Chamber of Commerce Meeting Time: Quarterly Learn more about MCRC click here Led by First Selectman of Essex, Philip Miller, the Revitalization Commission continues to address regional economic development issues and focuses on the revitalization of manufacturing and commercial districts of Middlesex County. The Revolving Loan Fund is available through the Revitalization Commission and is designed to encourage business growth that results in the retention or creation of jobs in the region. The original action plan has recently been revised as well as all electronic loan application documents to make for an easier and more efficient process. As the Commission remains active within the county, the group looks forward to addressing specific issues and meeting certain goals. | |
