IMPORTANT:
The Durham Town Clerk's office cannot issue a certified birth certificate AND process a passport application. Therefore, if you will be applying at the Durham Town Clerk's office, on National Passport Day, Saturday, March 27, 2010, please obtain a certified birth certificate from the Registrar of Vital Statistics in the town where the birth occurred.

The Durham Town Clerk's office is a U. S. Department of State Passport Acceptance Facility. You may come to process your passport application during normal business hours of the Durham Town Clerk (Mon., Wed., Thurs., Fri. 8:30-4:30, late night Tuesdays 8:30 am - 8:00 p.m.) Passport photos can also be done at the Town Clerk's office - fee $10.00.

All customers wishing to make an appointment at the Connecticut Passport Agency, 50 Washington Street, Norwalk, CT 06584 must call 1-877-487-2778. Only customers traveling within 14 days will be able to make an appointment. It is vitally important that you stay on the line until you receive the confirmation number for the appointment - and, if applying for children's passport, to remain on the line for further instructions. Proof of departure must be shown at appointment time at the passport agency.
